I stopped by to see if they had an RV spot available. I was currently staying at the Best Western in Liberal. I ended up leaving BW to stay here while I wait on my RV to be hot shotted. The room is very clean. You have everything you need at this little motel. TV/Dish - Microwave- Refrigerator - AC - comfy bed. I personally like the small town feel. I like the Mom and Pop motels.
Got in about 11 o'clock at night and had to wake them up. They were very nice to us and gave us a room that was clean and quiet.. Bed was comfortable. I slept well.. Bathroom had been remodeled within a year and was nicely done. This is an older style motel with the rooms all on one level. I think they're a little smaller than more modern rooms, but it was nicely decorated and we enjoyed it. Price was on the lower end of the scale for motel rooms these days. I would definitely stay there again if passing through Plains.
Mr. Old Mexico (Him and his wife's culture) are the overseers of this fine establishment. I say fine because for its location, it being the only motel in Plains... it was nice, clean, and overall pleasant. Mr. Old Mexico is a joy to converse with. And He and his wife are just so humble and kind. It was really a great experience being there.
I was driving into a snow storm and due to previous reviews I stayed here. The room is simple, tiny, and cosy. Clean with a hot shower. Super grateful to the kind couple who let me in. I felt safe here in the middle of the night in a snow storm. This place practically saved my life.
This is a decent little small town motel and rv park. Yes there is highway and train noise, but everything else makes up for it. The rooms are clean, recently remodeled, and the rv lots are level cement pads with NEW electric 30/50/20 amp hookups (Not metered) and new water and sewer plumbing. The owner takes care of this place, and is not a slumlord at all. There are no homeless people looking for handouts, no drug addicts or drug activity/traffic. There are not public bathrooms, so you will have to be self contained in that, there are currently no laundry facilities, BUT are in the process of being built as i write this. Right now the monthly rv lot rent is 450 a month all utilities included, an excellent deal considering how new the facilities are. This is a dog friendly place, just pick up after your dog like you would usually do, BUT it is close to the highway, and the grain elevator, so PLEASE keep your pet leashed, or fenced in so they dont get run over and killed. If you are on social security, or disability, or on veterans benefits and you have a self contained rv/motorhome that you live in or want to live in, then this RV park is definitely for you, as its quite affordable! You could afford to live here even if you only had a part time job. There are daily and weekly rates but i dont know what they are. Pictures to come soon!
AMAZINGLY clean and cozy, simple room. Got stuck traveling in bad weather with my 2 kids (4 & 1), so pulled over hoping they had a room. Nice couple managing it. Cleanest motel/hotel room I’ve ever been in and coziest bed and linens. Was a cold night and they had a hot bath for the kids. No extras, but everything we needed. Got home safe the next day. Super affordable, too. Highly recommend.
A lot of people forget when your going through an area that lost tourism a long time ago and want to leave reviews based on experiences in more vibrant areas. This is an old school motel in a very small town. The hotel is older but clean. The rooms have been updated somewhat and very clean. The bed was comfy and the water was HOT with good pressure. Ac works amazing and the front desk was very helpful. I stay in hotels across the country 180+ days a year and have gotten quite picky and I would not hesitate to stay here again on my next trip through
The star crest was a great value and a nice place! Clean and quiet. I arrived at 9:23 PM on a motorcycle and the proprietor could not have been more gracious. He even turned me on to the Plains Tavern for great food at 1990s prices!!
